Kunsi Keya Wimmin’s Sundance July 12-21

Happy summer! Blessing from the Sun!

I hope this email finds you well and enjoying the energy of this new season. I’m writing to tell you about a journey that I’m passionate about supporting. From July 12-21, a group of women of color and children from NYC will be traveling to over 100 acres of land in Vermont called Kunsi Keya Tamakoce (Grandmother Turtle Land).

They will be participating in a very powerful and sacred ceremony given to the Lakota people called Sundance. This special prayer ceremony will be a Wimmin’s Sundance led by Beverly Little Thunder and her daughter Lushanya Echeverria. For 8 days women dancers of indigenous descent and supporters will pray, bless, cleanse, and eat together.

It is so important for us to support women, especially women of color/indigenous descent to be able to travel to Vermont to be a part of this ceremony. We need to support their trip so that they can reconnect with themselves, community and the land as well as pray for all humanity.

With your support of $25.00, $50.00 $100.00, $150.00, or $200.00, you will make possible this amazing journey to sacred land for women and children of color to reconnect the ancient traditions of our people. Through our powerful participation in the Lakota Sundance ceremony from July 12-21, we empower, we heal, and we transform our minds, bodies, and spirits for our generation and for the generations to come. Our fundraising goal is $3,000.

Please send your donations via paypal by July 9th, 2013:

Your support will give us access food and lodging for eight full days of ceremony, payment of our transportation from New York to Vermont, any and all supplies needed for the journey, and a contribution to the land to keep our ancestral traditions alive.

You can find more information on Beverly, Lushanya, Wimmin’s Sundance and Kunsi Keya Tamakoce by visitinghttp://kunsikeya.org/. By the way, if you are into that sort of thing, they are a nonprofit and your donations will be tax-deductable.

Please pass on the word so that we can support our sisters in this journey! Thank you so much for your support!

Much love,

Collective of fierce sisters and children
